Homestead is a campaign is set a few hundred years after a “typical” fantasy setting. The mortal races have travelled across the sea and formed colonies in a New World. Humans are the most populous, and the campaign will be set in the human nation, which is still recovering from a recent civil war fought to free the goliath slaves from the southern provinces. Most human cities are found on the eastern coast, although many settlements are found further west and inland. This western frontier is a symbol of hope, freedom, and opportunity, not to mention quick riches, due to rumors of hundreds of platinum veins. Recently, the network of great steam elemental powered engines have connected the civilized eastern coast with the scattered cities on the western coast, uniting the continent and providing easier travel for prospective settlers.
The elves, under the oppressive rule of their eladrin nobles, have settled far to the south, near the jungles with strong connections to the Feywild. The elves and eladrin aren’t terribly friendly with the human nation, as they have many problems of their own to worry about. Rumors of elven rebels and uprisings are common, and eladrin lords fight to keep control. Dwarven trappers and traders settled far to the north, offering their trade and services to those who can pay well. Many dwarven settlements have been under threat of attack from native giants, however. Recently, small boats of halflings and gnomes have arrived in ports on the western coast, bringing immigrants who heard about the “land of opportunity”, eager to make a fortune.
Native to the land, tribes of dragonborn, minotaur, kenku, and orcs fight for survival against xenophobic settlers intent on “civilizing” these noble people. Some natives embrace the opportunity offered by these newcomers to their land, while others fight back, brutally slaughtering all settlements they encounter.
